Mummy Duck and Her Five Adventurous Ducklings

One of pre-school songs that I still remember and catch myself singing sometimes is Five Little Ducks. It’s a kid song of all time.

My children in school loves it and they don’t seem to get bored listening to it. Each time the nursery rhyme gets played, there appear fresh glistening in their eyes and energy to play the ducklings.

My children call them the Five Adventurous Little Ducklings.

Mama duck’s usual routine is to take her ducklings swimming in the cool of the day and far into the hills. Mama duck allows them to go far into the hills to have some fun. When it is time to go, with a simple “quack quackquack” they will all come swimming back. But on this day, only four came swimming back at the call of mama duck.

The remaining sibling ducks carried on although mama duck stayed hopeful that the missing duckling will find her way homes soon.

The next day, the four ducklings went swimming over the hills and even farther away. The had so much fun swimming and showing off their new skills and didn’t realize one their little sister swam to another end of the river. When mother duck called out “quack quackquack” only three of them came swimming back. With a heavy heart they all swam home mourning their lost little sister.

They went on same way swimming and playing until they wandered off and lose their way.

Mama duck became distraught and dejected because she has lost all her five little ducks.

Sad mother duck went one day over the hills and far away in search of new possibilities. Reluctantly and sadly she called called out “quack quackquack” like she always did partly in mourning and partly in hope and to her greatest surprise, all the five little ducks came swimming back.

The lesson for kids in this nursery rhyme is that though adventure is great, always find your way back no matter how far you wander off as a result of adventure.

Another lesson to learn in this preschool nursery rhyme is the power of resilience in not giving up. Thank God mama duck called out to her adventurous ducks one more time.

Mary and her Loyal Little Lamb

Mary had a Little Lamb is a baby song loved by both kids and adults. This nursery rhyme is an incredible toddler song that shows how caring and loving even an animal can lead to loyalty.

Once upon a time, there was a girl called Mary who lived in the country side with her parents and siblings. Mary had a little lamb whose fleece was white as snow. Mary loved her little lamb so dearly and the lamb loved her too. Everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go. Everyone in the neighbourhood knew Mary and her little lamb because wherever you find Mary, the lamb was sure to be there.

One day, as Mary was going to school with her brother, they heard the sound of a lamb bleating behind them. They looked back, behold, it was Mary’s little lamb coming behind. Mary’s brother said, “Let’s take him to school with us, the kids will love him”. Mary picked her lamb and hid him in her basket and off they went to school.

It was a fun day in school because the lamb made the children laugh and play. Each time it bleats, all the children will go into a laughing spree. They all admired its fleece which was white and snow and stroked it tenderly.

Later in the day, Mr. John Doe their Science teacher came into the class and was surprised to see a lamb at school. Quickly, Mr. Doe turned him out of the class. This made the children very sad but still the class went on.

Mary’s little lamb lingered near and waited patiently till Mary did appear after her class. This made the children love the lamb the more because they had never seen a pet so wise, loving and loyal to his owner before.

All of Mary’s classmates decided that they will all keep a pet and love him so dearly like Mary’s little lamb.

Three Little Kittens – One of the More Interesting, Thoughtful Children’s Songs

The Three Little Kittens isn’t the most popular children’s nursery rhymes you can find, but it can be an interesting one for kids that like pets. It features an interesting story that even tries to teach kids to be responsible and take care of their belongings.

Needless to say, this can be an important lesson to learn that may serve the kids well all through their life. Let us know dig a little deeper into finding what this little-known but one of the more interesting children’s songs has to offer.

The Story

The story of Three Little Kittens revolves around 3 little kittens. They were given little mittens by their mother cat.
However, when it came the time to have some pie, the kittens found that they have lost their mittens. This angered the mother cat, who said that they will now not be having any pie.

This makes the kittens sad, and they later manage to find their mittens. They tell this to their mother, who then praises them and allows them to have some pie.

However, when having the pie, the kittens end up soiling their mittens. When they tell their mother cat about it, she again gets angry at them.

But the little kittens manage to turn things around again by washing their mittens and hanging them for drying. They then come back to their mother and show her that they washed their mittens and have hung them for drying.

This makes the mother cat happy again.

Takeaways for Kids

As we mentioned above, this little story may not only turn out to be an interesting one for kids, but also make them better aware of their responsibilities. It will help them learn that they need to take care of their belongings, or they might lose out on things they like.

Similarly, they may also learn that if they create a mess out of something, then they should be the one cleaning it up. Not doing so won’t be acceptable and may make people around them get angry at them.
